Tibberton CC
Sunday 25th April 2011 @ Winterfold
Clent CC 303 for 5 from 40 oversTibberton CC 41-9 from 19.2 overs
Clent won by 262 runs
Without checking with the statisticians, possibly our biggest win to-date! The disappointment of losing the opening game now a distant memory. Poor old Tibberton once again ran into another gargantuan batting display by the Duffmeister! Reeling from the solitary 4 runs scored the previous week, someone was going to feel the wrath of Duff's bat. Unfortunately that team happened to be Tibberton - the team Duff scored his last century against at the end of last season!
A superb batting display by Duff and another good knock from Matt Heath with 48 n.o. (taking his average to over 100 in the first two games).
The damage had been done by Duff's bat - the Tibberton openers walked onto the field as if approaching the gallows. Soon enough the wickets began to tumble with some very tight bowling performances again (Andy Law 5-2-7-2 and Jon Lee 5-1-15-2). Good to see Gavlar back in the action as too witnessing wickets for Tony and Sherrif.
Apart from the result, highlight of the day - 'Hey Ho Audie!' with something stuck to his shoe! Priceless!
Thanks to Rich Perry and his legendary potato salad!

Stourbridge Social CC
Sunday 17th April 2011 @ Winterfold
Clent CC 143 all out from 29 overs
Stourbridge Social CC 144-3 from 29.4 overs
Clent lost by 7 wickets
First game of the new season, sun shining – an air of optimism! Could we put to bed last season’s disappointing 58 all out against the same opposition? Clent won the toss and decided to bat.
When Duffy was caught behind for 4, Carlos departing for a duck and El Capitan being softly dismissed for 4, last season’s score looked a long way away!
Rich Perry did a sterling job of protecting his wicket against the opening attack of Riaz and Ahmed. Enter Matt Heath (actually don’t – that would be hideous) – a swash-buckling 54 bringing a level of respectability to the Clent Innings ably supported by a cameo role of 20 from Audie (Frodo) Homer.
143 all out – disappointing not to bat out the overs but a good recovery from 15 for 3 off the first 6 overs! Despite good bowling performances all round, Stourbridge Social coasted to a comfortable victory with 7 wickets and 10 overs remaining. Brocks (1 for 14 off 6 overs) Andy Law (1 for 16 off 6 overs) being the pick of the Clent bowlers.
Overall a good effort but the Waterfront element of the opposition has again proved to be a different class of cricket to what we are used to.
